Spawn (1997)

IMDB rating: 4.50

Plot: The movie adaptation of Todd McFarlane’s mega-cult comic! Al Simmons is a hitman who works for the government. One day, someone sets him up and he gets killed. Of course, he goes to Hell, where Malebolgia – the Devil himself – offers him a deal. Al will come back to life with a certain amount of “energy”, but when it runs out, he will return to Hell as a Hellspawn, and help in the war against Heaven. Al accepts the offer, because of the love for his wife Wanda, but when he arrives to Earth he sees that the Devil has cheated him… His face is horribly distorted, his body covered with a living suit, and the worst of all; he finds Wanda married with his best friend. Shattered, the Spawn starts wandering in New York’s alleys…

I bought 2 females and 1 male kribensis! What should i do now?
So they are in a fully set up 20 gallon with everything they need to spawn. In the shop tank the little female was with the male and i think i luckely got both of them. Now in my tank they started off with the female colouring up and showing off for the male but now he is chasing both females. Do you think they will pair.

Straight after releasing them in my tank the females coloured up heaps.

Is there any way i can encourage them to pair.

Male kribs have sometimes been known to spawn with more than one female, so a ratio of one male to two females is perfect. Kribs are cave spawners, so each female should have (at least) one cave to spawn in and guard eggs and fry. They also like to dig pits in the substrate, so have some fine gravel on the bottom of the tank.

How to encourage them to pair up?
Give them good food, and make frequent partial (50%) water changes.
Kribs are good parents, and are fascinating to watch shepherding a cloud of fry.

Some mood music, soft lighting, a little red wine…

Well maybe not the wine, but just leave them alone and see what happens.

They are cichlids and they will sort out a pair to suit themselves, just watch for one female being bullied and remove her if needed.

Male will pick one female and since your tank size is smaller better remove the other female. It would be best for your fry and also for her own health.
